Stories

When we are kids, adults tell us to not believe in horror stories, stories of monsters or witches, that they don't exist and nothing bad could happen to us. So then come the famous fairytale, with princess and magic, and make us to believe that one day in the perfect future, we'll be having a happy ending, where a prince will come in a white horse and pick us up in every fall.
However, us, innocent kids, grow up, and when this happens, they forget to tell that it wasn't all true.
We find the monsters who we were afraid of and see the ghosts of  worry in our mind. Lately, we learn how to control them, and this make us realize that they weren't so bad at all. We also find that the fairytale is not real, and the prince never appears when we need, and the magic isn't in front of us, like we always thought.
This whole of bullshit shows that, when they said to not be afraid of monsters or ghosts, they were talking about every problem that we have courage to resolve today and all the insecurities; and the beautiful fairytale of our childhood, is just a future's metaphor.
So, we don't need to be scary of the future or desist to find a happy end. Let's just live, and maybe, have a happily aver after.

Essa foi uma redação que eu fiz para o meu curso de inglês com o tema 'Stories'. Eu gostei muito, e resolvi postar, em ingles mesmo, para manter o texto original, ou só por preguiça de traduzir mesmo. :b
